Receptionist

Mission

Reporting to on‑site Management, the Receptionist is responsible for responding to all incoming calls, greeting and directing visitors, and answering inquiries in a positive and professional manner that reflects the values of Extendicare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer all incoming calls and respond to inquiries in a positive, professional manner

  • Redirect calls as appropriate and take clear, concise messages when needed

  • Greet, assist, and direct all visitors

  • Pick up and sort internal mail

  • Stamp, deliver, and maintain mail machine for external mail

  • Prepare packages and arrange courier pick-up

  • Coordinate meeting room schedules and bookings

  • Update phone lists and distribution lists

  • Maintain a clean, safe, fully stocked, and well-organized reception area

  • Assist with small administrative projects (e.g., labels, bulk mailing)

  • Complete other duties as assigned

  • Uphold and promote Extendicare’s values, ethics, morality, and integrity as outlined in the Code of Conduct

Qualifications

  • Above‑average interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

  • Previous reception experience is an asset

  • Professional and polished telephone manner

  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines

  • Highly organized and detail oriented

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
